What I do really well:
I am a developer of the right retirement plan for businesses and their employees. I help business owners think about their long-term goals and implement the financial plans to help reach them, and keep individuals on track to build and protect their savings. I work hard to simplify complicated financial subjects for the owners and employees of our retirement plan clients and the individuals we advise. I am constantly finding ways to provide value added services for our clients.

How I got here:
After graduating from the University of Vermont, I spent a little over a year at Fidelity Investments working with large corporations. I developed a desire to lead and have an impact on the financial lives of closely held businesses and individuals. In 1993, I started in the financial advice business. I quickly learned from the individuals and business owners I came in contact with that there was a great need to help organize their financial “house.” They just needed the proper guidance in language they understood. They needed solid independent advice with the solutions, not just another financial product. Over the past 20 years, I have focused on my professional development by becoming a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, a Chartered Financial Consultant®, an Accredited Estate Planner, and recently an Accredited Investment Fiduciary®. I have built Wealth Planning Resources with the help of a dedicated team with a combined tenure of more than 25 years.

Why I get up in the morning:
I have an opportunity every day to make an impact. I help businesses construct the best retirement plans for the owners and employees; assist employees with enrolling in their company's retirement plans to get them closer to their retirement goals; aid business owners in protecting, transitioning, and growing their businesses; and help individuals build and implement a well thought out financial and estate plan. Over the past 20+ years, we have strived to deliver the best service possible. This has meant showing up every year to review and keep our clients on track. Our clients have entrusted their financial plans with me and the WPR team; this keeps me motivated and humble.

Who I really am:
I am a husband (married to Holly) and father of three (Colin, Camille, and Anna). I am a weekend mountain bike racer, avid skier, lacrosse player (yes, still!), and amateur chef. I live in Sudbury, Massachusetts, and give time to the Foundation for Metro West and various other organizations that can have an impact on people’s lives.

Matthew R. Landon, CFA®

Retirement Plan Advisor

FINRA Series 7 and 65 Securities Registrations.
Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®.
Earned the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation.
Dartmouth College, BA 1991.

What I do really well:
With more than 20 years of retirement plan consulting experience, I act as the “Chief Retirement Plan Officer” for the businesses and organizations that we serve. My job is to think through the key issues that CFOs and human resources directors don’t have the time or expertise to tackle, and bring process and prudence to the design and ongoing monitoring of their retirement plan programs. I also offer the same level of care and advice to their plan participants, helping them make good saving and investment decisions through the accumulation, preparation, and retirement income phases of their retirement journey.

How I got here:
I often joke that the retirement plan industry is the industry that choses you, and it’s not something that you actively seek out. As a recent college graduate and after a brief stint in marketing and product development with Friendly's Ice Cream, a good friend referred me to an open position at MassMutual in the retirement services department, and the rest is history. I’ve been fortunate to have senior roles with MassMutual, Fidelity, and T. Rowe Price, and I now describe myself as a former provider “insider” who advocates for businesses and organizations with the goal of making their retirement program and the employee experience the best it can be. In addition to my extensive experience on the recordkeeping side of our business, I’ve also had a life-long interest in investments. Several years ago, I enrolled in the Chartered Financial Analyst® program and in 2012 was awarded the CFA® charter, the most respected and recognized investment credential in our industry. My career experiences, accumulated skill sets, and past studies have converged and led me to the role that I am most passionate about:  trusted retirement plan advisor to more than 60 businesses and organizations in our region.

Why I get up in the morning:
Our work is extremely important. Hearing from our clients and their employees that we have had a positive impact on their businesses and their financial health, these are the things that that I am most proud of.

Who I really am:
I am the husband of my beautiful wife, Lisa, and we have two great sons, Zac and Alex. I coach youth lacrosse in our community, serve as the president of our youth lacrosse board, and still suit up for an occasional over-40 lacrosse game. I also love spending time on the Cape boating and fishing with our boys.

William Berry, CFP®, AIF®, ChFC®, CLU®

Financial Advisor

Maintains professional designations:  CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP®), Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®), Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®), and Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®).  Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®.
James Madison University, BBA 1999.

What I do really well:
I provide financial planning services to individuals and families. I also establish and manage retirement plans for business owners, with the goal of assisting in overall financial planning and risk management for these entities. I’m committed to providing professional yet personalized attention, with a key emphasis on establishing trust, maintaining independence, educating (not just executing), and providing a source of security and reassurance for my clients throughout their various life and business transitions.

How I got here:
My education was focused in finance, but when I graduated, I found myself teaching high school math. I didn’t just want to go work on Wall Street; I wanted to have a positive impact in some way. Math has always been my favorite subject, and I realized that I had an ability to connect with my students with creative lesson plans that tailored instruction to best reach them individually. As I began my own family, I realized that financial planning is the perfect combination of the expertise and skills I’d developed. Even better, it provides an opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives. A little forethought and discipline can have a tremendous impact, and I love working with clients to create a plan that addresses their goals and concerns. I made the jump into this profession about eight years ago and haven’t looked back. I think every day how lucky I am to have built a career doing something that I truly enjoy.

Why I get up in the morning:
I get up each morning with the intention of living my life to the fullest. I aim to appreciate, preserve, and build upon all that I’ve earned and received for myself, for my wife, and for my children. There are a lot of things out of our control, and the best we can do is prepare for all possible outcomes. My own personal drive to do so for my business and my family is what helps me step into my clients' shoes and strive to achieve that for them as well.

Who I really am:
I am a father to three amazing children: two daughters who will undoubtedly care for me in my old age and a son who keeps us all on our toes. I married up. My wife is my partner in everything I do. I am an avid sports fan, lover of the outdoors, active participant in the CrossFit community, and hopefully, one day, world traveler. I was off to a good start before the kids came along, and hope to travel as much as possible well into retirement, for which I’m already planning.

What I do really well:
I am responsible for keeping WPR’s Client Communications Program on track. I also ensure that WPR’s clients receive first-rate service by responding to client requests and maintaining client records.

How I got here:
I graduated from the Winsor School, Smith College, and Suffolk Law School. After beginning my career in the legal field, I had a strong desire to make a tangible contribution to a small business. What really gives me great satisfaction is to know that the work that I’m doing on a daily basis positively affects our clients and their families. What a powerful and rewarding experience to know that the correspondence that I prepare, the paperwork that I process, and the projects that I work on, can all make a difference in the lives of our clients’ families!

Who I really am:
I am blessed to be in the midst of a parenting journey with four incredible daughters, so most of my time away from the office is spent accompanying them to their various commitments. However, when I do get a free moment, I enjoy spending time experimenting with new recipes and exploring local hiking trails.
